Welcome to the University of Wisconsin–Madison Undergraduate Academic Awards Office

The Undergraduate Academic Awards Office is a resource center for UW undergraduates and recent graduates interested in applying for campus-wide and nationally competitive scholarships. We are here to provide information about the scholarships, and also to help you put together the best possible application.

Several campuswide awards and nationally competitive scholarships are administered through the UAA Office. Many additional awards for students majoring in particular academic fields are administered at the department and program level. Be sure to consult with your major advisor on what might be available. Also, check out the UW–Madison Grants Information Center, sponsored by the UW Library.

If you are looking for study abroad opportunities, contact the International Institute Fellowships Office. Only the Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships, funding two years of study in Great Britain, are administered through the UAA Office. For information about these scholarships see Nationally Competitive Scholarships below.

If you are looking for general financial aid opportunities, contact the UW–Madison Office of Student Financial Services. See, especially, the Undergraduate Scholarship Booklet, which lists a wide range of opportunities.

UAA fellowships-advising is not limited to the awards listed on this site. The resource pages contain tips that will be useful when applying for other scholarships as well. If you would like feedback on a scholarship application please call or email to schedule an appointment.
