Ombuds Office for Faculty and Staff

The Ombuds Program serves as an informal, impartial, confidential, and independent
resource for faculty and staff at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It supplements
the ombuds services available to students through the Dean
of Students Office and to School of Medicine and Public Health faculty, staff, and students through
Ombuds Rosa Garner . An ombuds
will listen to your concerns, clarify procedures, discuss options, and, if requested
and appropriate, serve as an intermediary in attempting to resolve disputes.
Ombuds work independently from University administrative offices; discussing
a matter with an ombuds is confidential and does not constitute notice to the
University.
Four emeritus faculty and staff work part time and share the
duties of the office. First contact should be made by calling the Ombuds Office
(265-9992). We take turns checking the phone and one of us will call you back
within a day. You may also call or email any of us, but he/she may be unavailable
when you call since all four of us are retired and are sometimes out of town.

our services.
The School of Medicine and Public Health's Ombuds, Rosa Garner, continues to provide
services for faculty, staff, and students within that school's 26 departments,
centers, and institutes (www.med.wisc.edu/Ombuds).
