Harvey M. Meyerhoff Wisconsin Experience Fellowship

Purpose

The Meyerhoff Wisconsin Experience Fellowship honors two Meyerhoff Undergraduate Excellence Award recipients with an additional cash prize and the opportunity to share their Wisconsin Experience through speaking engagements and print articles. Meyerhoff Excellence Award recipients represent a cross-section of campus, including individuals from every school/college and many student affairs units. With their pursuit of academic excellence in tandem with leadership, activism, global and cultural engagement, they embody core values of our university as expressed by the Wisconsin Experience.

Award

Each year two Wisconsin Experience Fellows are chosen from among the 26 recipients of the Meyerhoff Undergraduate Excellence Awards for Leadership, Service and Scholarship. They receive an additional $1,000 (for a total of $2,000).

Eligibility

Only Meyerhoff Undergraduate Excellence Awards for Leadership, Service and Scholarship recipients may apply.

Selection Criteria

  • Academic achievement (GPA, involvement in Wisconsin Experience engagement activities such as research, internships, study abroad and/or service learning)
  • Service to campus or community (volunteering and activism)
  • Leadership ability (assumption of a leadership position in an organization, the ability to motivate and influence others to establish and accomplish goals)
  • Suitability as a role model for underclassmen

Application Process

The 26 recipients of the Meyerhoff Undergraduate Excellence Awards for Leadership, Service and Scholarship are invited to submit an application for the Meyerhoff Wisconsin Experience Fellowship. The two recipients are selected by a committee comprised of university administrators, representatives from the Meyerhoff Undergraduate Excellence Awards awarding units, a community member and a representative from the Meyerhoff Foundation.
