The Honors program in
the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences provides challenging and intellectually
rewarding experience for high-achieving undergraduates. Students are accepted into
the program based on grades in high school or college, or by providing evidence of
unique intelligence and curiosity.

The Honors Program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison
School of Business seeks to provide high-potential students special opportunities
for academic challenge, social interaction, and career development. The greatest benefit
of the program is the opportunity to work closely with students and faculty who love
to learn. Academic challenges await students in honors courses and individually-tailored
research projects where students work closely with other high-potential students and

College
of Engineering Honors Program
The College of Engineering considers all
its students honors students in the sense that all engineering classes are challenging,
focused, and require unusual academic ability just to pass. Nonetheless, honors opportunities
are available on a limited basis in the College of Engineering.
The Engineering Honors in Liberal Arts Program is open to a select
group of entering freshmen with unusual ability and unusually broad interests
in liberal arts.

The School of Human Ecology Honors Program provides an opportunity for students to
pursue course work in greater depth than is possible in regular courses by enrolling
in courses offered for honors credit only, participating in campuswide activities
for honors students, and applying for special research funding opportunities.

Letters
and Science Honors Program
The College of Letters and Science (L&S)
Honors Program offers special opportunities for students seeking to discover, explore,
and sharpen their own capacity for high achievement and excellence. It provides enhanced
course work and more rigorous degree requirements for students who wish to go beyond
the basic L&S curriculum. In addition, it offers a variety of activities to encourage
greater community involvement on the part of talented undergraduates. Students who
formally choose to join the L&S Honors Program can work toward Honors in the Liberal
Arts, Honors in the Major, and Comprehensive Honors, the highest degrees offered by
the college.
