RE: UW-Madison Domestic Partnership Policy and Form
I am pleased to announce the approval and implementation of the attached UW-Madison Domestic Partner Policy and a related document, the UW-Madison Declaration of Domestic Partnership form. Governance bodies representing students, classified non-represented staff, academic staff, and faculty have approved the policy.
The intent of the Domestic Partner Policy is to simplify and clarify the documentation necessary for domestic partners of UW-Madison students and employees to obtain access to services such as housing, recreational sports facilities, and libraries. Unfortunately, the policy does not yet apply to benefits that are controlled by the state or the Board of Regents, such as heath insurance.
