The UW-Madison Four Year Graduation Agreement

Steps to Fulfilling the UW-Madison Program for an Undergraduate Degree within Four Years

New UW-Madison freshmen may be eligible to participate in an optional program consisting of a signed agreement and academic plan to graduate within four years.

The Four Year Graduation Agreement itself is a simple document. The Protocol described below is more detailed. Mainly, the student has to develop and maintain an academic plan and have regular contact with UW-Madison advisers. To maximize students' success in this program, the Protocol provides a prescribed amount of structure during four, consecutive undergraduate years.

The UW-Madison Four Year Graduation Agreement is designed to formalize a plan for students to graduate within four calendar years from initial enrollment, assuming full time continuous registration. Participation in the Agreement does not guarantee admission to any specific lecture, discussion section or lab, major or department, nor does it give priority registration to the student. The University agrees to provide the services and remedy described in the Agreement. The steps the student must take each year in order to participate and graduate according to the Agreement are described in the following Protocol:
